Our Commitment
Lanai Estate Stewardship is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to all visitors, including those who use assistive technologies. We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Design and Technical Approach
Pages are built with semantic HTML landmarks so that screen readers and keyboard users can navigate the document structure without relying on a pointing device. Every page includes a skip-navigation link at the top of the document that bypasses repeated header content.
All interactive elements—navigation links, form fields, and buttons—are reachable and operable by keyboard. Visible focus indicators are present throughout the site and have not been suppressed.
Color contrast ratios for body text, heading text, and interactive element labels meet or exceed the WCAG 2.1 AA thresholds of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text. Both the light and dark color themes have been evaluated against these thresholds.
This site respects the operating system's prefers-reduced-motion media query. When reduced motion is enabled, scroll-triggered animations resolve immediately without transform or transition effects.
Images that convey meaning include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked so that assistive technologies may ignore them.
Form error messages are associated with their respective fields programmatically, so screen readers announce them on field focus.
Known Limitations
We review the site on an ongoing basis and address accessibility issues as they are identified. If you encounter a barrier we have not yet resolved, we welcome your report so we can prioritize a fix.
